Breeding and Adoption Process

...
Wait-list

At Beres Haus we chose not to adopt the standard process followed by the majority of German Shepherd breeders. We feel like it would put pressure on us and our dogs to produce and we feel by being pressured it could possibly lead to breeding for quantity vs. quality. There's also the concern for the customers, we understand that life has its twists and turns and a lot can change in a year or 2 that the customer may be on a wait-list.

Reservation Process

At Beres Haus the process that we have established makes more sense for us and our potential homes. We, as a breeder, certainly do understand the importance of finding a good home for each and every one of our Beres Haus puppies, therefore upon confirmation of pregnancy (prior to birth) we are willing to accept 4 early reservations. The expected litter is posted and it is on a first come first serve basis. We require a 500 dollar non refundable deposit to reserve those spots. After the litter is born, if there are more than 4 puppies the rest of the spots are available upon us posting the litter as available..

Puppy Selection Process

Puppy selection happens at approximately 6 weeks old. Beres Haus will provide 2 weeks old photos, 4 weeks old photos and 6 weeks old photos along with a small video clip at 6 weeks old. With our assistance on information such as temperament, size, coat etc. We require each family to select the puppy of their choice, or if the homes choose to do so, we are more than happy to take specific qualities you are looking for and we select the puppy that we feel best fits the description. NOTE! Selection order is determined by order in which reservations are made.

Gotcha' (Adoption) Day

Puppies are generally ready to leave for their forever homes at 12 weeks of age, but Beres Haus reserves the right to hold them for an extended amount of time if we feel it is necessary to do so. We offer pickup at our home in North Georgia. Pickup options are coordinated at 12 weeks old after families have selected their specific puppy of choice.

Included With Beres Haus Puppies

Your German Shepherd puppy will come home with up to date deworming and shots with a record of these administered over the course of their young lives. Each Beres Haus puppy will have also completed our basic puppy commands class. Instructions on training will be given to new families on pickup day. At Beres Haus we register each Beres Haus puppy with the American Kennel Club (AKC) and a puppy registration paper is included in their puppy packet which also includes a certificate of health from our local veterinarian. Note! We do microchip puppies prior to going home..
